For nearly a century, Taverna del Borgo Antico has been serving the great classics of Lombard tradition: golden and crispy Milanese veal cutlet, slow-cooked ossobuco with gremolada, mondeghili meatballs in sauce, and the essential risotto alla milanese, creamy and perfectly creamed. Risottos and polenta are the house specialties, alongside recipes from other regions, grilled meats, and fish dishes. There is also pizza, cooked in a wood-fired oven, accompanied by a wide selection of Italian wines and craft beers.

A restaurant with typical Milanese dishes, but not only. The main courses I tried were excellent and served in the right portions. Good wine selection, including small bottles. Polite, efficient service, always at the customer's disposal. The atmosphere is special, also because it is located in the center of Brera. There are outdoor and indoor tables. It is comfortable even in the outdoor seating areas thanks to the heating. Definitely worth returning to.

Following a Smartbox gift, we had dinner on Monday evening at this restaurant located in one of the typical streets of old Milan. We had a wonderful experience with everything, from the excellent cuisine to the service in the dining room with welcoming, fast, capable, and very helpful staff. We will certainly return.
